Tom has over two decades of urban planning and community development experience. He works primarily with non-profits, institutions, and local governments. He previously held various leadership positions at the South Side Local Development Company (SSLDC) in Pittsburgh, where he led various housing and mixed-use development projects. He worked on the redevelopment of the former LTV site as a lifestyle center known as South Side Works. He left SSLDC to lead Manchester Citizens Corporation in Pittsburgh’s Manchester neighborhood, which is home to Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild / Manchester Bidwell Corporation.
Tom has deep experience in structuring public and private financing, as well as repositioning community based real estate assets. Tom earned an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Pittsburgh and he holds the American Institute of Certified Planners’ AICP designation. His undergraduate degree is in Public Policy Studies from Duke University. Tom is licensed to practice real estate in Pennsylvania and is a faculty member of the Carnegie Mellon University School of Architecture.
